Budgerigar (or "budgie" for short) is the correct term for what most people call a parakeet. The English Budgie is much fluffier and a full head taller than the American Budgie. Budgies are among the smartest birds in the world - even outranking the African Grey Parrot in potential vocabulary! Just imagine the conversation you could have with an English Budgie over a spot of tea!
