Artist's Description:
This design is based off the four-winged dinosaur Microraptor. It's known for having feathered wings on the forelimbs and hindlimbs and a long tail with a feathery fan. The fan has two longer feathers at the tip in males. Studies into the structure of the fossilised feathers reveal that it would've been black and iridescent. I've chosen a dark navy colour for the design, but black, purple, green or blue might work just as well as the real colouration would've changed depending on the light.
About the Designer:
I'm an artist with a background in geology and palaeontology. I've had experience designing and making scientifically accurate dinosaur soft toys, as well as other artistic exploits such as digital painting and sculpting.
