Artist's Description:

I grew up with Pekingese. They are among the most loving, loyal, and fun-loving fluffballs in existence. They even have royal blood! In ancient China, the punishment for stealing a Pekingese was death. Only royalty were allowed to own one! They were bred to be ferocious protectors of the emperor, yet portable so he could carry them in his sleeves. Pekingese are also called Lion Dogs; it is fitting, for they are ferocious, courageous, high-spirited, and regal!
