Artist's Description:
I love the marine life. The adaptability of the animals who live in the depths vary so dramatically. But while dolphins are stealing the spotlight in Sea World, there are animals who are neglected despite being cheap to see and cheap to purchase in your local mall! Hermit Crabs come in many charming colors, and along with being a famous first pet, they show through their vibrant shells with their big, meaty claws! Who says a creature with a rainbow on its back who lives in two-dollar coconut shell home can't be intimidating?
About the Designer:
I love stuffed animals. In fact, my first and only "felony" of sorts was as a 7-month-old, grabbing up a Simba plush from the Disney Store. By the time my parents noticed it was in my car seat next to my Nala puppet, it was too late to turn back and apologize for their child who couldn't walk or talk yet...Giving up my life of crime, I moved on to more productive interests--including art. Currently a graphic design major in college, I was excited to escape more complex projects and dish out something simple and cute that not only I like, but my younger sisters want among their collection of stuffed animals. And really, what's more fun than art that everyone can enjoy? (I still have the Simba and Nala, by the way....)
