Artist's Description:

Is it a squirell? Is it a rabbit? Nope! It's the Marsupial Lion! Also known as Thylacoleo, or the Pouched Lion, these guys were related to kangaroos and wombats. Roaming the plains of Australia 40 thousand years ago, these predators were something special. They were relatively small, only about the size of a lare dog, but as specialized as a leopard! They had a powerful, cat-like body and a muscular tail, which enabled them to stand on their hind feet and box away competition. They, had retractable claws and large, semi-opposable thumbs, which they used for climbing trees, grabbing prey and holding sandwiches. But their most noteworthy feature was their teeth, they had big rodent like incisors, and sharp bony plates for molars! These Marsupials were truly something to behold. And truly something for you to hold!
