I absolutely love my beautiful, adorable Squishable Orca!! =)
I have wonderful memories of visiting SeaWorld as a little girl living in Southern California. (This was before public awareness of the harm caused to Orcas and Dolphins kept in captivity!)
Like all little beach girls, I dreamed of swimming with the dolphins and their dressed-up cousins, the smartly tuxedoed Orcas! What little girl who visited SeaWorld didn't want to grow up to be one of the trainers who seemed to communicate freely with their smiling, formally-attired Orca friends?
Alas, I did not become an Orca-trainer, and my chance of swimming with an orca is looking slim, unless I have a fairy-godmother show up and offer to turn me into a mermaid! (Which would be totally cool, for sure!)
But now, at last, I have my very own Shamu. And he is a great pal! He has the sweetest smile, just like his water-loving counterparts, but since he's a Squishable, no water is needed to keep this guy happy. We spend our time together watching movies, reading, and sipping steaming mugs of Earl Grey. Instead of fish, Shamu prefers popcorn with extra butter, and he always looks forward to Taco Tuesday!
Not only is he content to hang around the house with me, but he's always dressed and ready to go, should I suddenly be invited to a black-tie event! (Not that it really happens a lot, but hey!)
He's super sympathetic when I've had a bad day and listens empathetically when I need to vent. He's always there with a cheering smile and a flipper for me to hold. =)
I think these classy, Squishable fashion-plates of the sea are retiring, so if you haven't gotten yours yet, don't wait! Shamu is as cute as he looks on the site...even cuter, really, as the camera can't truly capture his fuzzy, soft, shimmery fur, or capture his cute, kawaii expression!
